Here’s a review of the book by Susan Lanzinger:
Sub-Saharan Iditarod is an informative and fun medical adventure story. In addition to the medical story line, it exposes the reader to tribal cultures, wild African animals, and all sort of dangers. I read the entire book in one sitting and had no desire to stop. I recommend Sub-Saharan Iditarod to anyone who likes reading medical fiction, medical nonfiction, and/or adventure stories. The characters encounter many problems and often try to use science to solve the problems. You will both worry and smile as you read. Expect to learn some unexpected things as a result of reading and enjoying this book!
